Is there such thing as a dog veterinarian?
Filed Under Dogs | Comments Off

I know it might be a stupid question but can there be a veterinarian that only specializes in dogs and do they get paid the same as a regular veterinarian? (cause I know vets get paid a LOT of money!)
Thanks a billion if you can answer! Lol!

Does anyone know a really good veterinarian in the Arlington Heights IL area?
Filed Under Dogs | Comments Off
My Golden Retriever has skin infections so often I don’t know what to do anymore. All the vets and treatments he had so far were equally dissappointing. If someone knows a really smart and caring veterinarian in my area, please let me know.

Can anyone recommend a good veterinarian in the Los Angeles area? I know this is a huge area. But, I don’t mind traveling as long as I know my puppy is getting the best care.

What are the benefits of working with dogs as a veterinarian?
Filed Under Dogs | Comments Off
Also, what the non-benefits of having dogs as your specialty as a veterinarian? Also, what’a the salary? Any colleges you reccomend I go to so I can fulfill my dream of being a veterinarian who specializes on dogs? Anything you know will help.
And what if you don’t neccassarily want to operate surgery on them, instead you’d just want to always be around a lot of dogs that you can train, nurture, heal, and make them overall happy. I don’t want to deal with the sad and goriness of being a veterinarian who works in a lab, I want to make them happier, and always see dogs that love to be around me. I can raise them on a big plot of land and stuff. How can I make this happen while getting a lot of money while being around dogs all the time so I can afford to make them happy?

How much does your veterinarian charge for a nail trim?
Filed Under Dogs | Comments Off
I work at a vet clinic, and the veterinarian I work for charges $19.00 for a nail trim, PLUS $26.00 for a technician consultation. That means someone has to pay $45.00 to walk in and get their dog’s nails trimmed. I think this is absolutely insane, and outrageous. I have talked to my boss about this before, but she refuses to change the price. Now, when people ask me to trim their dog’s toe nails, I warn them of the price, and show them how to do it themselves instead. If they can’t do it themselves, I tell them to go to the groomer next door where it is only $6.00.
Do you know how much your vet charges for a toe nail trim? And do you think my vet is charging way too much?
I actually am looking for another job now because I don’t agree with her outrageous high prices. I feel that she is more interested in money than anything, as you can see by her price of $45 for a nail trim…

My dog ran away several months ago but luckily she came back a couple days ago. She’s in horrible condition and she looks like she has the mange really bad and she has scabs all over her body. I love this dog, but I don’t know if I will have the money to cover the vet bill when I take her. Do veterinarians have payment plans to cover expenses?

What did Veterinarians charge in 1968?
Filed Under Dogs | 3 Comments
My 9-year-old daughter is doing a math project, comparing the ongoing cost of her dog to mine in 1968. We’ve Googled this every way we can think of, but we can’t find out what vets charged for things like annual exams, shots, etc. for a dog. Her teacher said she’ll accept someone’s best memory, even from an anonymous source like answers.yahoo. The purpose is to do the math.
Does anyone out there remember? Or have a parent or grandparent who remembers? Thanks!
